For editions Corsini was republished in the CD collection of songs Siena "... And while Sienna sleeps", built in the 70s Folk Group Senese. A record that still appears to be perhaps the best version that has been given to the folk songs of Siena.
Many will remember when, about twenty-five years ago, the section of the male voices of the "madrigal Senesi" (traditional line-polyphonic established in Siena in the early 50s by Count Guido Chigi Saracini) origin Senese folk group in order to enhance the repertoire of songs of Siena and its folk are somehow expression. The idea was born, therefore, from a love twofold: one for the beautiful singing and into a city in which the peculiarities and beauties that can not generate surprise, emotion and so ... songs.
An anthology of those songs (the best known) was recorded, then, by the same group Folk Senese the disc "... And while Sienna sleeps." These 14 tracks where, to show the diverse spirit of Siena and the Sienese, alternate serenades, witty ditties, passionate melodies that echo some nineteenth-century novel, notes on which are interwoven tales rich in irony and double meanings.
The execution of the Folk Group can arise beyond the debates about the "legality" or less to perform the folk song transcriptions with polyphonic and "educated" because their revised in terms essentially those rules of choral polyphony and a spontaneous Siena and its districts are now assets of any impromptu choir.
In view of the popular song Senese, this disc is still a significant witness. Therefore - after proper remastering done in the studies of Carriages Records - is now being revived as emotional, unforgettable soundtrack to a city (loved and lover) sings and sing.
